Nissan Repair: Nissan Pathfinder 2002, nissan pathfinder, radiator cap

Question
I experienced some overheating from time to time "still within the acceptable range", especially once the AC is on and the car is parked. One thing I have noticed that the fan in front of the radiator does not work continuously while the AC is on. I have checked all other parts of the cooling system, except the water pump, and they all work very fine. Any hint?

Answer
Raghav,

With the airconditioner on the fan should come on.  I would check the fan by grounding the relay that feeds power to the fan.  My bet is the relay is defective.  If you have not done a cooling flush and a thermostat replacement I would do that too.  As part of this use Prestone in a 50/50 mix with demineralized water and replace the radiator cap with a new one from Nissan.  courtesyparts.com is a great source for parts cheap and you do not pay tax if you do not live in Texas.  Shipping is minimal...
