Nissan Repair: Nissan overheating, liquid solution, blown headgasket

Question
Nissan 1400 deluxe 1990 model overheating. Radiator flushed. Thermostat removed. All water houses replaced. Heater houses bypassed. Still overheating

Answer
Willie,

I would be checking for exhaust gas in the cooling system.  There are test kits that use a fluid that changes color to check for CO in the antifreeze.  You drain enough coolant as not to contaminate the mix.  Then, you use a bellows to draw air in the radiator over a liquid solution and if it changes color you know there is exhaust in the cooling system.  This usually means a blown headgasket or a cracked hear or block.
