Nissan Repair: Nissan Altima, vacuum leaks, nissan altima

2001 Nissan Altima 2.4 liter,std trans, 126k,compression 162# to 168# no two cylinders the same ajoining,new plugs, wires,rotor and cap. Throttle body cleaned. Fuel pressur ok and new fuel filter. Checked for vacuum leaks. Revs great above idle.
symptoms-poor idle, sets code 300-random misfire or 304 cylinder #4 missing.. Coil? How can I check them?

Hi Roger -

You are correct! I just repaired a car with similar issues, and it was the coil. Unless you have the special tester, you can't field check it. I would just replace it and see what shakes out. That should be the problem.
