Nissan Repair: 2002 Altima cylinder head asket problems, 2002 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
QUESTION: Hi, i own a 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5s the fan cut out once and it overheated got it fixed but after 2 weeks same thing happens water has mixed with the engine oil Have spent too much fixing this car firstly, fixing the oil consumption now its the gassket pls help is there a way out this car has caused too much... cant get a good deal unless its fixed and i cant afford another engine .. i need n expert to help me to out ..i also came across this Heal A Seal    for gaskets and head cylinder fix does it work? Hope to hear from you guys thanks!

ANSWER: Hi Olumide -

If there is water in your oil, one of two (or both) has happened. Either your head is warped, or the gasket is blown from the overheat. Unfortunately the only way you can tell for sure is taking the engine apart, and the only way to fix it. Heal and Seal will not do it, and there is a chance it will make things worse by clogging your cooling system.

I am sorry i don;t have better news, but there is no shortcut to this one.

hope this helps -

QUESTION: Hi i had the head gasket changed and the cylinder head replaced after the overheat of my 2002 altima am thinking maybe there are some technical precautions or details required to fix it perhaps a small leak in the head gasket cause it started with hard starting then rough idle after some minutes it gets better perhaps theres something my mechanic should have done or shouldn't have done pls help ... i really need it fixed properly.

Thanks for your help so far hope to hear from you soon

ANSWER: Hello -

I want to make sure I have this correct - are you saying that you had the head gasket and cylinder head replaced already, and you are still having water in your oil?

Was the oil changed when the work was done?

QUESTION: Hi, Yes you have it correct. The head gasket and cylinder head were replaced yet water found its way into the engine again after 2 weeks . The oil and oil filter where also changed. Could it be the Engine Block or it wasn't fixed properly, I need help. it worked quite well for a couple of days before ihard starting and eventually gasket failure

Answer
Hi -

I don't think it was fixed correctly then - I would take it back and while you are there, have them take a compression test. That will tell you if they need to take it apart once again. Engine blocks don;t usually warp unless it was extremely overheated, however it should have been checked when the car was apart anyway. Standard procedure.
