Nissan Repair: 1991 Nissan Sentra, nissan sentra, left hand corner

We have a manual transmission. Yesterday a red light came on on the lower left hand corner by the steering wheel. The axles need to be replaced and so the car is leaking oil. We also checked and the brake fluid is very low but we aren't sure if the light is for that or something else because we don't have the owners manual. Do you know what it's on for?

Can you describe the icon or picture on the light?

If it looks like a container with a drip coiming out, it is probably the oil, or a circle with line is the brakes. I would fill the brake fluid to proper level, and also the oil.

After doing that, check the light once again.
