Nissan Repair: 1991 nissan maxima no heat, nissan maxima, heater core

Question
I have recently replaced the thermostat , water pump, had the rad flushed and checked and the belts replaced. My car will not blow heat unless the car is accelerating. Also once the air conditioner has been turned on and off it seems to still blow cold heat even though the heat is turned on. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Rosalie,

If the heater core is not plugged the system has air trapped in it.  If the heater did not work before and it does not work now would indicate a plugged heater core or a blend door that is not moving.  If it worked before the thermostat would lead me to the trapped air.  To bleed the air from the system you can loosen the upper heater core hose and let the air escape.  If it is the blend door you will have to get under the dash and check the movement of the doors.
