Nissan Repair: Water leak into 95 Maxima (front), heater hoses, water leaks

Question
Hi Calvin,
Water is leaking onto the driver side floor on my 95 Maxima. The water seems to be coming from the corner (where you would rest your feet on a manual car - left of clutch). The water mainly comes from that corner on to the carpetting and wets the center; however during a heavy rain the bottom carpetting will also get wet.
I would be glad if you can suggest what the problem might be.
I thank you for your time.
Best,
Berk

Answer
Hi Berk -

Normally when water leaks there it is the heater core. Although you may not use the heater, water still flows through a tiny radiator behind the glove box, called a heater core. The fix is to replace this core, usually involves removing some ductwork and dashboard items on the right side of the interior. If you do not use the heater, or for a temporary fix, you can disconnect and plug the heater hoses that go into your firewall.

Hope this helps -
aloha
