Nissan Repair: 1998 infiniti i30 tach and fuel guage, 1998 infiniti i30, infiniti cars

fuel guage and tach do not work. guage gegs out and stays on full and the tach does not respond to the rpms and stays pretty much on about 100 rpm. Is there a common problem that I could fix?

I would pull the cluster and clean the contacts on the back along with those on the harness.  If this does not correct the problem I would source a used cluster.  It is way too expensive to have yours repaired.  Check on-line for used clusters on google or bing...  Email me back if you need more.  Yes, this does seem to be a common problem on Nissan and Infiniti cars.
