Nissan Repair: 1990 300 ZX A/C, automatic climate control, hvac unit

Question
My hvac unit blows air only out of the defroster vents.  I
have gone through the self diagnostics but could not
determine anything from that except that the compressor did
come on.  It will not turn on during normal operation.  I am
having trouble locating the various components I would like
to attempt to apply 12 volts to the mode door motor to check
it out but can not locate the motor or the connector (M 46)I believe.  Please help, it was 112 degrees here today, I need
the A/C

The problem you have is the blend door is not moving to vent.  I would think, if yours is automatic climate control it is the control.  If not then you are looking at the blend door motor.  The blend door motor is on the drivers side, center and behind the console where the vent motor is located.
