QUESTION: my 04 Nissan maxima se stalls when idle and sometimes when driving slowly. i took it to Strauss auto and they couldn't figure it out. after i got it checked out it worked fine for 2 or 3 weeks and its stalling the same way again.

ANSWER: Kev,

A diagnostics needs to be run to determine what is going on.  This could be as simple as needing a set of plugs.  Second, the idle air control valve could be hanging and the manifold absolute pressure sensor could be defective.  I would go to Autozone or Checker and have them use a scanner on it, for free, and see if there are any pending codes.  Pending codes do not throw the check engine light but the computer stores them.  Email me back with what you find.

QUESTION: The error code that came up was p0605$10. I'm not sure what the $10 means but i looked up on some web sites that p0605 is the ECM. And thanks for answering my questions.

Yes, the P0605 is the ECM.  I would have it diagnosed before I bought a new one.  The $10 I ahve not heard of.  But, I have seen some aftermarket scanners do strange things.  Check out Autozone or Checker for a free code reading before you replace the ECM.  Let me know what you find.
