Nissan Repair: Speed sensor, vehicle speed sensor, nissan pathfinder

Question
I have a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder and the speedometer stopped working. I changed out the vehicle speed sensor and it still does not work. The only other sensor that I have read about that could cause this problem is the revolution sensor, is this true? This sensor seems to be a dealer item also as the local parts suppliers do not show it in their data banks. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

If the vehicle speed sensor has been replaced and there is no movement of the speedometer you are probably looking at a speedometer itself.  You could verify this with a scanner and pickup what the computer is reading.  That is, the computer gets its signal from the back of the speedometer cluster.  If not, then you need to see if the gear in transmission is broken off or the harness has been damaged where it runs down to the tranmission.
