Nissan Repair: 85 300z, air inlet hose, crankshaft position sensor

Question
the car idles fine but when you push on the gas it cuts out and misses and it wont pick up speed. do you know what could be causing this problem

Answer
Tisha,

Check the air inlet hose and the mass airflow sensor for air leaks.  If the hose is cracked or a clamp is loose the unmetered air will cause the engine to cut out as you say.  I would pull the codes and see if any are stored in memory.
