Nissan Repair: hub bearing assembly, cotter pin, center hub

Can you give me directions/instructions on how to change the front hub bearing assembly on my 2004 nissan quest? Thanks

Hi Robyn -

The bearing is a special one that needs to be installed with a press. The old one, also needs to be removed by a press.

Remove the hubcap, or access cover to the center hub nut
Loosen the center hub bolt (might have a cotter pin to remove)
Lift the car
Remove the wheel, then remove the following:
center hub nut
brake caliper assembly (leave the hose on)
tie rod end
upper control joint
lower control joint

Take that assembly to the machine shop to replace the bearing.
Installation is reverse of disassembly.
