Nissan Repair: 91 Nissan Maxima, high gears, nissan maxima

When driving my Maxima transmission seems to stop pulling an seems to shift into neutral.  What should I look for to fix this problem?

Hi Ron -

I am assuming your vehicle is automatic? If so, then check the trans oil for a burning smell, and the level. If the level is OK, then change the oil, and use an additive called AT205. Here in Hawaii it is found at Carquest. It has worked wonders for me in my past years as a mechanic, I think it will work for you as well.

If you have a standard shift, the clutch may be failing, especially if you feel it in neutral at high gears.
