WHY WOULD TPMS STAY ON?

The TPMS is registering an error.  This is the tire pressure monitoring system.  I would first look at the tire pressure.  Next, I would look at all the sensors at each wheel to see if the wires are damaged.  I do not know what year your Nissan is so the wheel pressure sensors could be defective and one might need to be replaced.  I would then go to a Nissan dealer and have a Consult II scan tool connected to verify which sensor is defective.
