Nissan Repair: starter, altim, flex head

   could you tell me the easiest way to replace the starter in a nissan altim , 2006 , automatic, V6.

Hi Beau -

Best way is first to disconnect negative side of battery cable.

The starter has 2 main bolts (perhaps 3 on some Altimas), all of them should be 14MM. Helps to have a flex head ratchet and a few extensions. There are 2 wires that connect to the starter, one larger than the other. Before removing these wires, note how they sit in relation to the starter. When replacing the starter, you donlt want these wires to touch any part of the exhaust system.

Installtion is reverse of removal.
