Motorcycle Repair: head light, high beam, test light

hi i have a 81 fxst my head light only has a high beam and the switch says its on low i have replaced the bulb and checked the switch but not sure thats working right.thought about buying a new wiring harnes

Check at the plug with a test light. You should have one post at the bulb for high beam, low beam and ground. If the high beam stays on all the time then you need to trace the wire back to the switch to see where the problem is
