Nissan Repair: 1997 Nissan Maxima steering column electrics, nissan maxima, fuse box

Question
I have lights, washers and wipers that work, but my horn, blinkers and cruise control are unresponsive when I try to turn them on. Is this somethign that can be fixed by replacing a fuse, or will I have to take my car in to get it taken care of?

Thanks, Dai

Answer
Hello Dai -

I would check the fuses first. The regular fuse box is located under dash driver's side. However the fault may be in the main fuse box, which is in the main engine compartment on the fender. Open the plastic box, and see if any fuses there are blown. These are the large circuit in the vehicle.

Other than that, I would think a wire got cut or disconnected in the steering column. Those are a lot of component that are not working, must be a main wire somewhere from the switch on the column.

Hope this helps -
