Nissan Repair: dash board light,1990 nissan maxima, nissan maxima, blown fuse

my dash board light went off suddenly,i coulnot locate the
fuse for dashboard..it had happened in the past and it got
fixed by itself in the past. is this the problem of the
blown out switch or some other problem,1990 nissan maxima

Hi Rajib -

I would check 2 things - the fuse, should be under the drivier side dash, labeled "INST" or "PNL" or similar. Best way to check fuses is with a circuit light tester. Ignition on, take the probe and touch each terminal of each fuse. If one side lights and the other doesn't, you have found the blown fuse.

Also check the dimmer switch. It could be defective or on the wrong setting.

Remote chance that it culd alos be the headlight switch on the steering column.
