The powered windows work intermittently, up or down only few inches.

First thing to check is the tracks. Ensure that it is not binding. Lubricate the channels and see what happens.

If that fails, then it is probably the motor. If you have an ammeter, you can check it to see if it is on its last leg. Reminder that the inside door panel needs to be removed before you can access the motor.
