Nissan Repair: 94 nissan sentra brake light on dash, nissan sentra, brake fluid

only brake light on dash comes on and off . everything else is ok.  What do i need to do or look at?

Hi Kaymarie -

This light has 3 possible reasons why it illuminates:

1. Brake pressure has air in it.

2. Emergency brake indicator

3. Brake fluid is low


I think it is the latter (which is the simplest to check). The reservoir is located right on the firewall on the drivers side of the engine compartment. Remove the plastic cover and refill with DOT3 brake fluid.

Also might be a good idea to check the brake pads. As the pads wear down, the caliper holds more brake fluid, thus the reason why the level may be down.
