Nissan Repair: pathfinder, spark plug wire, metal surfaces

Question
i have a 98 nissan pathfinder v6.it was running fine and just stopped. i put in a new fuel pump.fuel filter an a relay switch and it still won't start oh and new plugs . i need any help i can get.

Answer
Hi Kathy -

We have to determine if there is spark and then go from there.

Remove a spark plug wire and insert a screwdriver firmly in the boot until it rests against the terminal inside. Hold it about 1/4" away from any metal surface and have a helper try to start the car (do not touch any metal surface while doing this). A spark should jump between the metal surfaces.

Let me know how this goes and please get back to me-
