Nissan Repair: Daytime Running Lights not working, nissan altima gxe, daytime running lights

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I own a 1997 Nissan Altima GXE and the daytime running lights have stopped working, on both the left and right side of the car.

Thanking you in advance,
Chris

ANSWER: Hi Chris

Please check the bulbs. One could have been out for a while and may have not been noticed. If you have power at the sockets, it has to be the bulb.

If there is not power, have you checked the fuses?

QUESTION: Hi Calvin,

Left and right bulbs have been changed.  There is no power at the sockets.  The fuses have been checked and they are good.

Regards,
Chris

Answer
OK Chris -

Thanks for the info. Now you have to trace the circuit with a 12V probe type light tester. I would start from the switch. See if there is power going to the switch, and power going to the bulb when the switch is turned on.

If there is no power to the switch at all, then might want to check in the relay box on the fender of the car in the engine compartment. Check power there and go back towards the battery.

Hope this helps -
