Nissan Repair: Rough Idle, P0011, P0300 Codes, nissan murano, adjustment mechanism

Question
I have an 04 Nissan Murano with 65k miles.  It recently
started having a rough idle, but is fine during normal
driving.  The check engine light came on, and I read two
error codes for P011 and one for P0300.  From what I have
found, the P0011 tends to be the valve timing actuator and
p0300 is for misfires.  The other piece of info I read was
that the P0011 would be a mechanical binding of the cam adjustment mechanism, not electrical.  Is this as simple as
replacing the actuator? If I have to replace the actuator,
is the timing need to be adjusted or is it a strait swap?
Thank you for your help.

Answer
Greg,

The P0011 is the intake valve timing control.  That could that oil has gotten dirty and blocked the oil passage that allows advancement of the cam.  Or the actuator itself.  The P0300 is random misfire.  I would check the sparkplugs and the fuel pressure to see if it is normal and no fuel injectors are sticking.  The actuator is outside of the valve cover and bolts on.  It should be an easy replacement.  But, remember to make sure the oil is clean.  There is one on each head.
