Nissan Repair: Nissan 240sx, oil pressure switch, nissan 240sx

Question
My '91 Nissan 240sx with the KA24DE will start and run fine, then the engine will randomly die. I don't loose power, the engine just shuts off immediately and without warning. Has happened on a sunny dry day at 40 degree's and at 10 degrees and snow. 90mph and 10mph. Sometimes it will start right back up, sometimes it takes 15mins. Then it will be fine for 8hrs or two weeks. Please help.

I changed the distributor cap and rotor I bought the car from the original owner who took good care of it, and the wires and coil look new. I don't think it would be the ignition module as it would go completely. Could it be the distributor? I have seen others with this problem, any answers?

Answer
Jon,

It could be the distributor being contaminated with oil or the fuel pressure.  Check the distributor by disassembly and making sure oil is not on the optics.  The fuel pump could cut off if the oil pressure switch is defective.  Check both of these and email me back with what you find.
