Nissan Repair: My Quest is squealing!, drive belts, cold weather

Question
Hi! I have an 04 Quest and AFTER I took it to the dealership to have the timing belt replaced and the 'corroded battery' cleaned, it started squealing when I start it in cold weather. After a few blocks of driving, the squealing goes away, but when I first start it, it's incredibly loud. Any ideas??

Answer
Anne-Marie,

The assessory drive belts need to be tightened and if they did not replace them when your timing belt was replaced have them do so.  But, the easy fix is getting the belts tightened.  I would take it back and get them to do it for free.  The Quest was not making the belt squeal prior to them doing the timing belt.  And, to get to the timing belt they have to take the assessory drive belts off to gain access.  So, it is their fault and they need to correct the problem.
