Nissan Repair: Ka 24 injection, crank angle sensor, shaft seal

Question
I have made a custom manifold and fuel rail to fit the ka24 injection system, factory loom and computer to a hot ca20. The computer reads no faults, all + wires and relays have power and are working, but I am not getting a signal to the injectors or coil.Did the ka24 have some sort of immobiliser?

Answer
Justin,

Make sure the signal to fire from the crank angle sensor and the cam position sensor are being received by the ECM.  You are going to have to get a wiring diagram and make sure things are connected.  The vehicle anti theft system only kills the fuel pump so it would not be involved.  I will assume this is distributor equipped.  If so, tear down the distributor and see if there is oil on the optics.  That will require a rebuilt distributor.  But, if there is oil you have found your problem with the computer not receiving signal to fire plugs and injectors.  The shaft seal fails and oil wicks up the shaft and blocks the optical shutter wheel.  It works much like your computer mouse with an LED pickup and receiver.  The shutter wheel provides timing information to fire both plugs and injectors.
