Nissan Repair: Infiniti I35 Stuck in Limp Mode, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
Help Rob! tired of driving around stuck @ 65mph! (limp mode)...although saved me some tickets! Went in "safety mode" after fueling,,, stalled at 60mph. Restarted but now slow. Dealer diagnosed from code P1102 Mass Air Flow Sensor..lites on.. Service-deale Eng @ TCS. They quote $750. My friend will install dealer part..cost $400 + $25 labor. I've had the sensor cleaned can't tell if it helped. How can I reset the ECM to find out? Can't find a shop with the software..disconnecting the battery didn't work? Tks!

Answer
wow.  i was already thinking maf before you stated, but those prices are ridiculous.  yes there is a maf cleaner.  you have to remove your maf, located next to your air filter and you will see this small metal tab inside.  you need to use the cleaner and get rid of all the buildup but you cant touch this too much, its a very sensitive part.  to be honest, you might get away with just disconnecting the battery overnight to reset the computer.  hope this helps.  stay away from "said" mechanics, thats ridiculous.
