Nissan Repair: 95 pathfinder not starting, starter relay, factory security

Question
I was driving my pathfinder yesterday and went inside for lunch.  When I came
out it would not start.  I have a new battery and the starter seems to be fine.
What could be the problem?  The lights, radio, etc work fine.  I did notice the
factory security system light is not turning on.

Answer
Raymond,

If the car will not start does that mean it will not turn over?  If it will crank but not start that would be the factory alarm.  If it will not turn over that would mean you need to look at bridging the starter to see if it will then turn over.  I would look at the master fuses on the positive side of the battery cable.  Also, make sure all connections are tight and even swap out the starter relay if the starter is not turning over.  If you use the key to open the driver;s side door and then attempt to start the vehicle you could discount the alarm as a factor.  Provided, your anti-theft light is then functioning properly.
