Audi Repair: Audi A4 Quattro Problems, throttle position sensor, audi a4 quattro

Question
It -24 degree with a windshield of -40 today and my Audi started.  But I push on my breaks and I stop but then my car moves a little like I'm sliding on ice when theres nothing on the road.  Also when I put my car in park my Rpm go up to 3000 which is high. But when I put it in reverse it went back down to 1000 rpm. When I start my car the dash lights flash on and off until I start it.  Is this just because of the cold or is it a more serious issue.  If I have a Block Heater installed would it help. I also allow my car to heat up for 15 min, I don't have a block heater.

Answer
That is very cold.  You might make sure that all the fuses are making good contact in the fuse box for the flashing dash light problem.  Which lights flash?  All of them?.  Can you explain the brake problem a little better?  Regarding the idling speed, the idle control valve should be controlling that, or the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)  Perhaps check those items for you idle problem.
