Nissan Repair: wipers, wiper assembly, little arm

Question
This is a follow-up to your answer about one wiper working and the other one not.  Once you remove the cover, is there a way to replace the ball and clip?  Is it necessary to replace the entire wiper assembly?
Thank you for your assistance?

Answer
Tony,

Depending on what has come off or is broken you could just have to replace the clip.  That is the usual problem.  If the ball stud is broken off it requires the replacement of the little arm that bolts to the motor.  Pop off the cover and email me back with what has broken or come off and we'll go from there.  This is going to be a dealer part and they have the computer images so just bring in the broken part and they can match it up.  Otherwise, the wrecking yard is an excellent source.
