Nissan Repair: Car overheating probelm and rattling, nissan pintara, radiator system

Question
QUESTION: Hi
My car overheats regularly, the radiator system seems to be working as water is flowing through the entire system but on the guage it says its overheating which i think it is any suggestions?
Also while accelerating a rattling sound occurs in the engine bay any suggestions on what it could be?
Thanks

ANSWER: Hi David -

Please tell me what kind of vehicle you have?

The rattling sound is probably engine pinging, which does come out when the car is overheating. Does it still come out when you are first driving the car in the morning, or only when it heats up?

Try running the engine with the radiator cap off for a few minutes - does it boil over? If so, perhaps it is the thermostat.

Once I get you info, I should be able to help you more.

Hope this helps -

Answer
Thanks for the info David -

OK, please tell me the results of the test I asked you to do above, and if the rattling noise only comes out when the car is warmed up, or right after you start it in the morning and want to accelerate?

Please let me know -
