I love my truck but it is making me mad!! How do u replace the idler pulley. It started making a squealing sound then i smelled rubber. At first when I'd hit the brakes my idle would go up/down...now it goes down and is a very rough low idle. And once it even killed the engine, leaving me on a busy street. Once i get going its fine. It all happens when i stop. Please Calvin, I am in need of your divine wisdom. Thanks so much. Tony

Hi Tony -

The replacement of the pulley is pretty basic, the most difficult would be the access (sometimes). There is a bolt right in the middle of the pulley (I think it is 14mm). Remove that and the pulley should comoe off. Take note of the order in which it comes off, as you will have to replicate it when replacing. Usually there is a washer that has to be replaced the same way.
