Nissan Repair: 99 Nissan Maxima Repair, accelerator system, nissan maxima

Question
"I have a 99 Nissan max. Problem i took it in the shop for was hesitation at 1500-2100 rpms. And sometimes acting like it could stall at a red light.  They sold me fuel injector cleaning, fuel filter, oil change and throttle body cleaning and an oxygen sensor which was tripping the ck engine light. Got the car back it was revin to 2100-3000 rpms when cold on a start up. Took it back to them and now they say they never should have done the throttle body cleaning and that it needs an idle air control motor and they they are replacing it for free. Took it home tonight b/c the part isn't in till monday and i noticed that the gas pedal is not compressing when you are at 0 rpms looking to accelerate from any stopped position, it will go if you jam on it. Looked at the cables that accelerate the car and notice that when you accelerate the car one cable moves and one does not ..what does this mean? Is it expensive?"

Answer
Hi Stephanie -

It is obvious that the repair shop has done something to the throttle that has caused the butterfly to bind (this is all part of the accelerator system).

Take it back and have them fix it. Afetr that, perhaps find a better repair shop . . .

Please let me know how this goes -
