Nissan Repair: Nissan Altima 2005, nissan altima 2005, nissan altima

Question
I attempted to turn on the a/c 2 days ago, and it was blowing hot air, never got cool.  A few minutes later my service engine light came on.  The car seemed to be running okay until yesterday. I was stopped at a light and the car jerked a little bit, and acted like it was going to stall, but it did not.

Answer
Hi Andrea -

The first step is to perform what you call and OBD on your car. This downloads and displays the reason why the check engine light came on. You see, the vehicle has many sensors that report to computer. One or more of them has sent a signal that something is not right, and it takes a special tool to get the codes.

I think Autozone will do that for free, however any mechanic should have the tool.

Get the codes, and I can tell you what they mean.

Hope this helps -
