Nissan Repair: thumping/cluncking noise, tie rod ends, pitman arm


Question
nisan,murrano sl awd,42000miles,recent work in past two months oilchange,battery ,tires replacement and allignment.
Problem: car parked at mild slope,no parking brake on,wheels most of time turned hard rights, whenever pull it from park to drive and straighting the wheels, thumping/thuding/ cranking noise from front end. feeling like some thing going to brake. sure nothing to with gears or transmission because car runs fine when there is no need to reverse and drive away straight. please help.

Looks like a steering component is loose - check the following items:

Idler arm
Tie rod ends (esp. the one in the rack)
center link
pitman arm
all bushing associated with the above.

If you have access to a jack (floor jack preferably), lift the front part of the car until the tires are off the ground and shake it back and forth. Have a helper look  at the components above while you are shakinig it, and you should find the culprit.
