Nissan Repair: Nissan Almera Tino 2003, nissan almera, computer freaks

Question
QUESTION: My monitor display does not respond to commands. Pressing the joystick changes the view from day to night. I am also unable to select various settings when in choice mode. Any ideas?
Thanks

ANSWER: Clayton,

Sounds like the controller is defective.  Now, you might check and see if the connection at the controller or the display could be corroded.  I usually unplug and clean with a number 2 pencil eraser and or tuner cleaner.  Use the tuner cleaner sparingly as a little goes a long way and you do not want to get the solvent on any of the finishes in the interior.  This is especially true of plastic.  So, after cleaning the connections blow off the excess eraser dust and dry the tuner cleaner and reinstall.  Also, sometimes the computer freaks out and you have to disconnect the battery for five minutes to reset the works.  If both of these do not correct the problem you have a defective control module.

QUESTION: Thanks for the tips. Can I ask, how do I access the controller? Does the whole display come out? Thanks again

Answer
Clayton,

The display is an assembly and comes out as as unit.  The trim has to come off first.  And, yours, if I am not mistaken has clips at the top and two screws at the bottom.  From photographs checkout nissantechinfo.com and see if they have your model.  I am in the United States so there might be an international portal that I am not able to access from here.
