Nissan Repair: 1988 nissan pulsar nx, 1988 nissan pulsar, haynes manual

Hi, have a 1988 pulsar, 1.6 5 sp.  Had the altenator rebuilt and replaced the battery\alt fuse.  My problem is when I apply the brake, my lights dim, the rpm needles bounces out of control and the door open\ignition bell keeps going off.  Also, sometimes when I put my foot in on the clutch,say at a stop light, the engine races..any ideas on what may be causing this? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the air meter is sticking or the throttle position switch is worn out.  I would check the codes first and see what is going on.  I think the idle drops enough to cause electrical issues.  Check the codes and email me back with what you find.  A Haynes Manual is an excellent reference manual.
