Nissan Repair: 99 Quest Transmission, vehicle speed sensor, russ russell

Question
My original problem was the transmission would not shift from 1st to 2nd until it went way over the proper shifting speed and when it would finally shift it would slam into 2nd and lurch forward at the shift. From 2nd to 3rd it would overspeed again but not as bad and the shift was smoother. I brought it to a transmission shop and they said they would rebuild it for 2300-2800$. I found a used transmission at a local salvage yard. They said they flushed and repalced filter and tested the transmission and gave me a 1 year warranty. My brother in law put it in the replacement transmission shifts pretty much exactly like the one I replaced. Any Ideas what to do next. I appreciate any help you may give me. Thank you.

Answer
Russell,

I would be looking at the electrical connection to the transmission as well as the vehicle speed sensor, the vacuum sensor that it uses to lock into 4th as well as the lockup clutch.  This sensor is on the intake as it needs information on throttle position as well as engine loading.
