Nissan Repair: nissan ignition switch, spare key, turning the key

Question
Went out this am and put key in and it would not turn. Just locked up , tried spare key and the same condition. Any ideas how to remedy this or do I need to get it in for a new switch?

Hi Glenn -

Have you tried moving the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key? This might work, especially if the wheel is turned to one side.

Other than that, you might try to spray some lubricant in the lock and play with that a bit.

If all else fails, then you will have to replace the ignition cylinder. Please know that the ignition switch can be purchased separately from the cylinder. I did not get the year and model of your vehicle, so I can only give you generic stuff.
