Nissan Repair: front end thunking, nissan maxima, ball joint

Question
Recently I have been hearing a rubbing sound on my 1997 Nissan Maxima. Along with that, there is a clunking and thunking sound that seems to all generate from the passenger front side. I have recently changed the passenger side cv-joint/shaft, along with the lower ball joint. I find myself at a loss as to where to go from here. The noise is still there, however the thunking does not happen as much since i changed the lower ball joint.
Thank you for your time~

Answer
Roy,

The usual suspect is the strut tower bearing.  The strut connects to the strut tower via a bearing that has the three nuts that attach, topside, under the hood.  You have to remove the strut and lower it to remove the bearing.  This is a known problem on Maxima cars.  I have replaced too many to count.  Nice part is it only costs around $30 bucks.  It is the labor that is a pain...
