My question is if my 2009 chevy silverado pick ups stereo is xm compatible?

Hi Juan,

Unfortunately, there's way too many options for me to be able to give you a definitive answer as to whether it's XM compatible in the traditional sense.

There's 3 different models of Silverado (1500/2500/3500), of which there are 3 different models of those: Standard/Extended/Crew cab.  And then out of those options, there's the option of with, or without the Bose system, making a total of 18 different possibilities.

That said, there are lots of aftermarket XM systems that work by broadcasting FM, or plugging into factory auxiliary inputs that will work on just about any stereo.

But whether or not you can buy an adapter/accessory that plugs into the factory deck, and you can hide behind the dash, I can't answer that without more info.  Feel free to ask a followup question identifying those options and I can give you a better answer.
