Nissan Repair: 1989 Nissan Sentra Heater, nissan sentra, heater control valve

Question
The blower works, but no heat...Is there anything to check besides the heater core? How do you know if the heater core is bad? It does not leak into the car as some that I have seen go bad did.

Answer
Hi Chris -

Check the heater control valve. This is located under the hood along the heater hose. There should be a vaccuum line attached to it. When the heater is activated, there should be vaccumm in that line. If there is, then the valve should be replaced. If there is no vaccumm, then look for cracks or a disconnected vaccuum hose.

Hope this helps -
