MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF ONE DAY ON THE FREEWAY. i WAS TOLD DUE TO NO OIL I HAD MESS UP A ROD IN MY CAR IS THERE A WAY JUST TO FIX THE ROD WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY A NEW ENGINE IS THERE A WAY I CAN CHECK TO MAKE SURE IT IS A ROD MY FRIEND SAYS THAT THERE WERE LITTLE METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE

It is difficult to determine exactly what went wrong without being there to see the engine. So I need to ask a lot of questions, and we need to collaborate back and forth if you don't mind -

Are you sure it is the lack of oil? When was the last time you checked your oil, or changed it? Where is the oil level now? Does the engine crank but not start? Have you taken a compression test? That should determine a lot. Was the car overheating when it shut off?

I say the first step is to remove the spark plugs and take a compression test, if the engine is cranking.
