Nissan Repair: Rubbing/grinding noise in left front., cv joint, broken hope

Calvin, I have a 03 Maxima with 97000 miles. Lately I have been getting a rubbing/grinding noise that started when I turn Left only. Now the noise is present when I'm going straight but only audible at slow speeds. When I shift into neutral it seems like the noise stops. Could this be my bearing or the CV half shaft?

Hi Keith -

Your diagnosis is accurate. I was going to say it is the left hub bearing, but since it is not making noise in neutral, means that it is only making noise under load, which would be the CV joint. Is the boot broken?
