Nissan Repair: Nissan Bluebird 93 (U13) clutch master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, nissan bluebird

Question
Day mate, quick question regarding my clutch master cylinder. recently noticed my clutch fluid leaking into my car, after inspection realized that it was shot. on the weekend we pulled it out and pulled it apart, purchased a seal kit and went about rekitting it. it was much stiffer than before and was clearly sealing better. put it back in and hooked it all up however now it wont get pressure, we have bled the line but not from the slave cylinder as we cant get it to come out there. we are thinking maybe the cylinder is so tight that it hasn't retracted/sprung back. the pedal gets no pressure still and we are a bit lost. we have other things to try but they aren't solid so any suggestions?? thankyou :)

Answer
Kim,

The clutch master and slave are a pain in the butt to bleed.  I would push the pedal to the floor and have someone crack the bleeder at the slave and then shut it quickly.  Pull the pedal up with you toe and repeat the process several times and eventually it should build up pressure.  I have used over a quart of fluid to get one bled before so do not give up.  If that fails, you can use a vacuum pump on the bleeder at the slave and try to suck fluid out.  Again, do not give up as the master and slave are a pain to get the air out.
