Nissan Repair: Evap Emissioncontrol system, nissan sentra, oxygen sensor

I have a 1997 Nissan Sentra that has failed inspection in Texas for the "Evaporative Emmis Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfcnt"  How can I fix this?

Hi Lisa -

First of all, I apologize, as I am not too familiar with these tests, as in Hawaii we have no such thing.

However, do you have any check engine light that is on? Usually it is the computer that causes certain readings from the exhaust and that check engine light, when diagnosed will tell you exactly what is going on. A common component that goes out is the Oxygen sensor.
