Nissan Repair: Ignition Lock 2006 Nissan Altima, nissan altima, key hole

Question
I can't get the key out of my ignition.  The key will not turn all of the way back to the "lock" position.  Any ideas why?

Hi Dave -

there are 2 things I can think of -
1. Try moving the steering wheel back and forth while moving the ignition key. Sometimes the wheel is wedged against the locking mechanism.

2. Could be your ignition cylinder went kaput. try to spray some lubricant in the key hole and keep playing with the key to get it to move freely.
