How do you set timing on a 1999 Nissan Frontier with a 2.4 liter engine with twin cams and 16 valves?

Hi Earl -

The timing is supposed to be set at 20 degrees, however, the computer controls the timing, so there is very little adjustment. Do you have a timing light?

If so, connect it up, and flash it on the timing mark plate and the damper. Run the engine and note the timing. There should be a yellow line and a line that looks like a "T". The yellow is 20 degrees, and T is top dead center.
