Nissan Repair: engine exaust noise, nissan pathfinder, glass packs

i have a 95 nissan pathfinder which seams to run good but has a large motor noise ....sounds like exaust leak off main manifold... which persists untill engine is totally warm...   is there an easy fix for this problem or could it be something else.... the atrribution of imagining the problem being a form or glass packs or something has worn of   this noise makes my truck sound like a clunker .... thanks for your help.... jus

HI Justin -

There must be a vaccuum line that works similar to a EGR valve. Without looking at your engine, it is difficult for me to picture, but I can tell you to look for something connected to your exhaust system through a vaccuum line that deactivates once the engine is at operating temp. EGR works the same way, to inject exhaust gas into the carburetor to pre heat it so it burns easier.

I will do more research on my end.
